The facilities of Sands Beach Resort, in Costa Teguise, hosted on Thursday morning the official presentation of Josu Uribe as the new coach of UD Lanzarote for the 2020/2021 season. The Asturian coach was accompanied by the president of the entity, Juan Carlos Albuixech, and the sports director of the club, José Antonio Sosa Espinel, being in charge of explaining the sports project that is launched.
Juan Carlos Albuixech explained that this is "an exciting project with which we hope to aspire to higher categories, forming a team that I hope will excite the fans" and commented on Josu Uribe that "he is a coach with a lot of experience, he has decided to join the project to reconquer our fans".
For his part, José Antonio Sosa Espinel assured that "we are facing an important challenge, a difficult year because of what is happening, but it will not limit our enthusiasm in any way." Regarding the way in which the signing of the coach was forged, he explained that "it was not initially the objective because I saw it as unattainable, but little by little the possibility was given and I have to thank the ease with which we understood each other and the enthusiasm with which he comes to this project".
The new coach of UD Lanzarote, Josu Uribe, assured that "Canary Islands for me is everything on a sporting and personal level, a land that has given me a lot", recalling that it is his fourth club in the archipelago after his time at Pájara Playas de Jandía, UD Las Palmas and CD Mensajero.

The coach commented that he arrives with "a lot of enthusiasm" and advanced that "we are going to make a difficult team to beat, that plays fast and with speed, and that bites the rival", being the premises of the technical manager in a season in which he promised "a lot of work".
Regarding the keys to the new season, he explained that "if we make a good group, the results will come" and asked the fans to "trust us, we are going to leave everything on the field to have a great year".
Josu Uribe hopes to start pre-season training "as soon as possible and always respecting the established health protocols", and about the competition system he assured that "what you have to do is win matches and forget about the subgroups".
After the presentation, he maintained the first contact with part of his work team for the 2020/2021 season, with the purpose of setting the schedule for the pre-season training that will begin as soon as possible and when the relevant authorities allow the use of sports facilities on the island of Lanzarote.
