Haría is preparing to host one of the most important sporting events of the year, which has placed the northern municipality as one of the most important mountain racing references in the regional and national scene. Next Saturday, June 15, the third edition of the Haría Extreme will be held, a sporting event that continues to grow and this year will have more than 1,300 runners in the different modalities. For the second consecutive year, the Haría Extreme has been included in the Spanish Mountain Racing Cup, which will allow the best regional and national athletes of this sport to be on the trails and roads of Haría.

The facilities of the Sands Beach Resort in Costa Teguise hosted the presentation of the third edition of the Haría Extreme. The City Council of Haría was represented by its mayor José Torres Stinga and the sports councilor, Cristian Avero. They were accompanied by Fernando González, Director of the Race, and the representatives of Sands Beach, Juan Carlos Albuixech, and Naviera Armas, Gema Ibañez, main sponsors of the event that will be held next Saturday, June 15.

José Torres Stinga explained that for "Haría it is a satisfaction to have a test that is currently in the top ten of national tests" and stressed that the Haría Extreme is "a life project, a model of sustainability." José Torres wanted to make it clear that they do not want to "compete with anyone" and added that "Haría has the right to decide what our way of life is."

The Sports Director of the Haría Extreme, Fernando González, stressed that for the second consecutive year the event has been included in the calendar of the Spanish Cup, an achievement that is not easy to achieve. González quantified at 1,300 the runners who will participate in the Haría Extreme, of which 400 will be women, a number of female participants that is not achieved in any of the mountain races held in the Canary Islands. Fernando González explained that "we continue to grow and push hard towards the future", adding that the challenge is for the Haría Extreme to be scored for "the World Mountain Championship".

The Haría Extreme has three different modalities. The scoring event for the Spanish Cup has a route of 32.5 kilometers and 1,450 meters of positive elevation gain. The event is completed with the "Medium" modality of 22 kilometers and the "Hiking" modality of 11 kilometers. And also the little ones will have their particular test that will be held on Saturday afternoon in the main streets of the town of Haría.

The fact that the Haría Extreme is scoring for the Spanish Mountain Racing Cup will bring famous runners to the island of Lanzarote on June 15. Luis Alberto Hernando and Ragna Debats, winners of the first event of the season, will be at the Haría Extreme. They are joined by names such as Zais Ait Malek, David Castán, Iván Ortiz, Aritz Egea, Aitziber Ibarbia, Maite Maiora, Nuria Domínguez or Eva María Moreda, to which must be added outstanding runners from the selections of the Canary Islands, Aragon, Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Basque Country and Andalusia.

The Haría Extreme will begin to be experienced in the municipality of Haría from the beginning of next week, with the programming of a wide agenda of activities. The runners will be the main protagonists of this event and will have all kinds of facilities. And as a culmination, on Saturday night the Elvis Crespo concert will be held in the facilities of the football field.
