Storm Emilia has been making itself felt in Lanzarote and La Graciosa since 09:00 this Friday with rains that are currently affecting the entire island territory.
As you may recall, the Cabildo of Lanzarote has decided to activate the Insular Emergency Plan (PEIN) in response to warnings of rain, waves, storms, and wind that will affect the island this Friday and, with greater intensity, this Saturday.
Due to this, all outdoor activities will be suspended starting at 5:00 PM this Friday in the seven municipalities of Lanzarote. This situation will remain until Sunday the 14th.
One of the precautionary measures already taken by the authorities has been the closure of access to Los Charcones and the abandoned hotel due to the strong wave alert. In this regard, the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government has declared an alert throughout the archipelago for strong waves starting at 09:00 this Friday.
In addition, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued three alerts on the island, **three yellow alerts for wind, rain, and storms for this Saturday, December 13**. During the early hours of Saturday, the yellow alert for adverse coastal phenomena will become orange, with **waves that could reach seven meters in height**.As for the wind, it will blow with gusts that could **reach and exceed 70 kilometers per hour**. Meanwhile, rains are expected that could leave accumulations of up to 15 millimeters per hour, with a probability between 40% and 70%. In addition, there will be a **probability of thunderstorms**
