The Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" traveled to Logroño on Saturday to face Campus Promete with the aim of trying to shore up their place in Women's League 2. A priori against an affordable rival, after the result achieved in November when the Lanzarote team defeated the Riojans by a comfortable 83 - 69. However, this match was going to be very different and the Tías team was going to see their scoring capacity drastically limited, losing by 58 to 40.

From the first minute, Campus Promete showed eagerness to score the fifth victory on their scoreboard, which would allow them to move away from the relegation places. With quick counterattacks and a tough defense, they caught the Magec starting five by surprise at the start of the match. Aday Villalba tried to spur his players with a time-out, managing to finish the first quarter with only two points behind (12-10).

In the second quarter, the Lanzarote team started again without being able to develop their game. A solid defense by José Luis Ulecia's girls forced Magec Tías to play eight meters from the basket, greatly hindering their scoring. Thus, the visitors could only score 8 points in the quarter compared to Campus Promete's 19, which left the score at halftime at 31 to 18 for the local team.

After the break, although Magec occasionally managed to reduce the distance, the experience and good hand of Ylenia Manzanares overshadowed any glimmer of hope. The Riojan team thus increased the distance to 15 points (46 - 31) at the end of the third quarter.

In the last quarter, the Riojan team managed to maintain this dynamic during the last 10 minutes to not let the victory escape and conclude the match with the result of 58 to 40.

Magec will continue fighting to secure their place in LF2 next Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the Tías Municipal Pavilion, when the Lanzarote team will face the bottom team, Vega Lagunera Adareva.
