Everything is ready for the start of the seventh edition of the Windsurfing World Championship Islas Canarias PWA Costa Teguise. Now all that remains is for the wind conditions to accompany during the days of competition and to be able to enjoy the best riders in the world. Sarah Quita and Gollito Estredo start as favorites to win, while the great Canary Island hope is local Antxon Otaegui.

The Sand Beach Hotel in Costa Teguise hosted the official presentation of the Windsurfing World Championship "Islas Canarias PWA Costa Teguise" on Tuesday morning. A competition that will be held in the Freestyle category and will bring together the 45 best riders in the world.

The mayor of Teguise, Juan Pedro Hernández, commented that "despite the adversities and the bad times that local corporations are experiencing, Teguise continues to bet on boosting Costa Teguise." The head of Santa Surf, Lorenzo Seis, explained that in Lanzarote "the riders who are in the top 50 of the world ranking will meet"

The competition will officially begin on Wednesday morning and the first participants will take to the water from 11:00 am. Weather forecasts indicate that there will be less wind and waves than in the past edition and it is hoped that these conditions will be optimal for the practice of this sport.

Sarah Quita in the women's category and Gollito Estredo in the men's category, are positioned as the top favorites to take the final victory in the event. Sarah Quita was present at the presentation press conference and expressed her desire to repeat her triumph and achieve her fourth title on the island of Lanzarote.

The Canary Islands' hopes are pinned on the conejero rider Antxon Otaegui. "I hope to play a good role and be able to finish in the top 5", said Otaegui at the press conference.
