First success of the season for the young driver from Lanzarote, Yoday Betancort Cabrera, achieved with the title of champion of the Minikarts category integrated in the VI Canary Islands Karting Open, whose fourth round was held this Saturday on the track of the Gran Karting Club of Gran Canaria.

A meeting in which the title was disputed with a direct fight with another driver and in which the athlete sponsored by Distribuciones Betancort, based on the island of volcanoes and dedicated to the sale of sausages and food products, had to be used thoroughly.

The timed session did not end in the best possible way due to some slight technical problems that relegated him to delayed positions and, consequently, starting behind his adversaries in the fight for the triumph.

In the first race, and fulfilling one of the premises, he remained behind at all times until the checkered flag was lowered, being provisionally separated by four points pending knowing the outcome of the next and last race.

It is here where he repeats the tactic of staying in the wake of his opponent, which is valid for him to win the championship in his favor in the Minikarts section that groups in one the drivers of Alevines and Cadetes admitted in other events.

Undoubtedly a great reward for the work done by this young value of Canarian motorsport that will have its continuation in events in which its participation remains open.

Along with the above, he also had time to think about those who start in this sport and supported the participation of the local driver Luzmi Santana Ramos in her second active competition.
