Lanzarote Raqueta Club wins six medals in the Canary Islands championship

Last weekend, October 25th and 26th, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club traveled with its team to Tenerife to compete in the Canary Islands Championship, held in Granadilla. The expedition was made up of Juan Duarte, Ancor Suárez, Daniel Martín, Luis Hernández, Eduardo Curbelo, and Wing Choi.

In the Under-19 category, the club managed to bring home two bronze medals in the men's singles category. On the one hand, Eduardo Curbelo was defeated in a tight match against Connor Miranda from Tenerife, with a score of 18-21 / 22-20 / 16-21. On the other hand, Luis Hernández also won bronze after losing to Diego Pérez, also from Tenerife, with a result of 21-15 / 21-14.

In the Popular category, within the men's doubles modality, the pair formed by Juan Duarte and Ancor Suárez won a silver medal for the island of Lanzarote, after being defeated in the final by the brothers Francisco Javier Álvarez and Francisco José Álvarez, with a score of 13-21 / 17-21.

Furthermore, in the men's singles category, Juan Duarte won a bronze medal after falling in the semifinals against Alai Donghai Umaran from Tenerife, with a score of 21-16 / 21-16.

Finally, in the Senior category, Wing Choi, along with his teammate Uma Gómez from Tenerife, won the silver medal in the mixed doubles category, after losing in the semifinals to the El Hierro pair formed by José Miguel Sánchez and Bibiana Raquel León, with a score of 21-14 / 21-11.

In total, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club expedition returned to the island with an excellent medal count: three silver and three bronze, reflecting the great work, effort, and commitment of all the players.
