According to the report carried out by Club La Santa based on its own data and other data extracted from Promotur Turismo de Islas Canarias and the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC), it is estimated that the direct impact was "more than 4.5 million euros in 2023", the year in which the event celebrated its 31st edition.

The Ironman Lanzarote mobilized "more than 4,000 people", including participants, companions, workers and volunteers, and members of the Security Forces and Corps, and Civil Protection, in a complex gear but that year after year works with "great coordination", under the organization of Club La Santa. Of those more than 4,000 people, 2,500 were triathletes and companions, and each of them spent "around 1,100 euros", according to estimates based on official data from Promotur Turismo de Islas Canarias.

The event, which in recent years has had an average of 82.5% of foreign triathletes, has the United Kingdom and Spain as the main countries of origin of its participants, followed by France, Italy, Germany, Ireland and Belgium. The international dimension of the event is more than remarkable, and it should be noted that almost 10% of the Spanish participants are Canarian.

Next May 18, Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote will celebrate its 32nd edition, and long-distance triathletes from different parts of the world are already warming up. The longest-running event on the European Ironman calendar will continue to be a source of direct economic impact for Lanzarote, combining tourism, sport, entry and exit of visitors to the Canary Islands, consumption and, from a qualitative point of view, a growing positioning of the island as a destination and as an organizer of major international sporting events.

Club La Santa organized the first Ironman event in Europe in Lanzarote in 1992. Since then, the emblematic competition has been consolidated, not only for its "organizational success and for the routes and landscapes of the island" that make its route a "spectacular experience" for athletes, but also for the "impact it generates year after year on the economy of Lanzarote", the club specified.
