Hotel Lancelot San José Obrero was unable to string together its second consecutive victory against another direct rival and returned empty-handed from Guipúzcoa, where they were defeated by Hondarribia by ten goals, 26-16.

San José Obrero was defeated on Basque soil.

The match was very even during the first few stages, with two teams that were aware of how much was at stake to avoid difficulties in the category. In this way, the differences on the scoreboard were minimal and equality was the predominant tone until a double exclusion suffered by the conejero team caused the match to break in favor of the locals.

With a four-goal advantage for Hondarribia (11-7), the break was reached, although in the second half the team led by Jesús Casanova physically collapsed, feeling the long journey to Guipúzcoa and the absence of four of their most important men such as Paco, Aparicio, Marcos Julio and Carmona, who could not travel to Basque lands for work reasons, which meant that the conejero coach had to use three junior players to complete the squad.

With this defeat, San José Obrero remains eighth, although the teams below have cut ground. San José Obrero's next match will be on January 15 against Adelma BM. Sinfin.
