Spectacular match offered on Thursday afternoon by UD Lanzarote and Villa de Santa Brígida, match corresponding to the fifteenth day of the Canarian group of the Third Division. A match of alternatives in the game, on the scoreboard and that resulted in a final draw of four goals. The Rojillos acquired a two-goal advantage (4-2), with Villa de Santa Brígida achieving the draw when the local team was playing with ten players on the field. A draw that leaves UD Lanzarote with a seven-point advantage over the fifth-placed team and puts Villa de Santa Brígida in the play-off zone.

The match started with a scare for the local team. In the first minute of the game, Futre executed a corner kick, the ball was rejected inside the small area and Agoney cleared the danger from below. UD Lanzarote's response came in the form of a goal in the 7th minute. Mauri fought for a ball on the back line on the right side, passed it to Kilian's arrival and his cross found Rosmen's head to send the ball into the back of the net.

Villa de Santa Brígida barely took five minutes to equalize. Yeray Ortega controlled a ball in the vicinity of the area, hit a good shot that touched slightly on a defender and ended up confusing goalkeeper Agoney. The afternoon was about exes, with Rosmen scoring against his former team and Yeray Ortega against the team he played for during some seasons in the Second Division B.

The Gran Canaria team would turn the score around in their second arrival in the opposite area. Yeray Ortega entered the left wing, put in a low cross for the arrival of Romario and the striker, demonstrating a great goalscoring instinct, took a low shot that beat goalkeeper Agoney. UD Lanzarote had two good chances to level the score. Toño executed a free kick in the 23rd minute that touched the barrier and went slightly wide. And then Rosmen headed a cross from the right that Orlando Quintana stopped with a good stretch.

The match was in a phase of exchanging blows, with the game being very open and the ball going from one area to another very easily. Villa de Santa Brígida had it in the 27th minute, with a header from Romario at the far post that a Lanzarote defender cleared under the posts. And the local response came with an entry from Toñito on the left that goalkeeper Orlando Quintana stopped from below.

UD Lanzarote would manage to equalize before the break. A long ball was taken advantage of by Mauri to win the back of the Villa de Santa Brígida defense and beat goalkeeper Orlando Quintana with a precise chip. A goal that brought the end of the first half of the match.

The second half began with a double chance for Villa de Santa Brígida. In the sixth minute of the restart, Figueroa entered the left side and his shot was touched enough by Falo to go over the crossbar. And just a minute later, Carreño, unmarked, headed a cross from Juanma Pérez from the right and the ball went just wide.

UD Lanzarote showed its great hitting power as a local in the 15th minute of the second half, turning the score around. A good pass from Mauri served for Toñito to be alone in front of the goalkeeper, he dribbled him with a touch of the ball and into an empty net for the third.

The locals had to face the last twenty minutes of the match with numerical inferiority. Falo saw the second yellow in an unfair decision by the referee for a non-existent foul on the edge of the area. A direct free kick that Figueroa executed and that found Agoney's response. Immediately afterwards came the fourth goal of UD Lanzarote. Mauri started a quick counterattack, in which he saved two entries from the Villa defenders, passed it to Kennedy's arrival on the left and he put it at the far post for Toñito to push it into the back of the net.

Villa de Santa Brígida did not give in and thanks to their ambition they were able to equalize again on the scoreboard. Figueroa with a powerful free kick from the edge of the area put the third goal of the Gran Canaria team. And this same player was in charge of achieving the tie, by trying his luck with a distant shot that surprised goalkeeper Agoney who was not expecting the shot.

The visitors with one more player on the field went in search of the victory goal, locking Lanzarote in their plot of land, and the locals being well planted on the field. The exchange of blows did not cease in this final of the match, although the score would not move again. With the draw at four goals, the end was reached.

The draw leaves UD Lanzarote in second place in the standings, maintaining a seven-point advantage over the fifth-placed team in the category. Villa de Santa Brígida gets into the play-off zone thanks to the draw achieved in the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote. Next Sunday UD Lanzarote closes the year visiting the subsidiary of CD Tenerife.
