The winner of the III Rallye La Candelaria ? Tías, David Tenorio, was exultant at the end of the rally with the victory achieved. Tenorio commented that he was "very happy" and added that they had "a bad streak of years without finishing a race and the races that we finished we did it with many problems".
"Luck was on our side, thanks above all to the abandonment of the main rivals," argued David Tenorio. He participated in this rally with an Opel Corsa GSI, a vehicle that they premiered at the Rally Isla de Lanzarote. "We have taken great care of the gearbox, the second and fourth gears were failing and we were afraid of not finishing."
María Dolores Saez performed the functions of co-driver in the winning vehicle and highlighted that the team members had "health problems". "On Friday we suffered a lot and especially probing the car due to the gearbox problem," explained María Dolores.
The problems were frequent throughout the rally and María Dolores commented that they had "a problem with the gearbox selector and we said that there couldn't be so much bad luck."
Mechanical problems prevented Yeray Lemes from fighting for the triumph in the Rallye La Candelaria ? Tías. Lemes explained that they had "a bit of bad luck" and added that the "gear lever came loose and we lost seven minutes." Despite the adversities, Yeray assured that they had "had quite a bit of fun" and that they had achieved "some good times".
