CL Tinajo and CL Unión Sur Tías were playing for a spot in the final of the XXXV Torneo Fundación La Caja de Canarias, a final in which CL Unión Sur Yaiza was already waiting as the first classified of the regular phase of the competition. The two teams offered a vibrant semifinal, dominated by CL Tinajo in its first few rounds, with CL Unión Sur Tías reacting to put its rival against the ropes. The duel of "A" standouts between Marcial Viñoly and Jonathan Estévez was decided on the side of the CL Tinajo fighter, putting the definitive 12 to 11 on the scoreboard.
The match began with the dominance of CL Tinajo, with the Tinajo team adding the first three points to the scoreboard. Alexander Catarino gave Eliezer Martín the two in a row, Francisco Rivera did the same with Marco González, and Diego Cazorla also gave Alejandro Santana the first two. Adargoma Rodríguez added the first point for CL Unión Sur Tías, mutually eliminating each other along with Francisco Rivera, with both fighters committing three warnings in the first grapple.
CL Unión Sur Tías tied the score, making it four apiece. Ricardo Alonso gave Alexander Catarino the two in a row, Abián González also gave Diego Cazorla the two in a row, and Alejandro García, fight after fight after falling in the first, prevailed over Samuel Fernández.
CL Tinajo would pull away again on the scoreboard, adding five points consecutively and steering the match in their favor. Saúl Romero gave Abián González and Carlos Marrero the two in a row. The qualification for the final of the XXXV Torneo Fundación La Caja de Canarias was going to be decided with the confrontation between "A" Standouts. Marcial Viñoly scored the first grapple, Jonathan Estévez tied the match in the second grapple. And the third grapple ended in separate, with Jonathan Estévez being eliminated by accumulating a greater number of warnings in the match.
CL Tinajo won 12-11 against CL Unión Sur Tías and obtained their qualification for the final of the competition. The final of the XXXV Torneo Fundación La Caja de Canarias will pit CL Unión Sur Yaiza against CL Tinajo, a fight that will be held on Friday, June 29 at 9:00 p.m. at the Emilio Machín Arena in Uga.
