CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife won 26-31 against Errece Almassora, a team from Castellón, in their first game of the season. The match was the debut in the Women's Honor Division Gold. Thus, the working-class team had to put on their work clothes to win, with the Castellón team having a two-goal lead in the second half. Finally, a 0-6 run in favor of the conejeras tilted the match in favor of the Titerroy team.
Naore Saenz opened the scoring for the working-class team with a seven-meter shot, but soon the winger suffered an exclusion and left her team with one less player for two minutes. The numerical superiority was taken advantage of by Almassora, who would achieve a 3-0 run with goals from Zoe Turnes, Eszter Toth and Laura Torca establishing the 3-1 on the scoreboard in the first minutes of the match.
The Lanzarote team managed to get ahead (3-4) after a 0-3 run with goals from Ana Barquín, Nagore Saenz and Adina Ghidoarca. The first defensive problems for San José Obrero were not long in coming, with Nagore suffering the second exclusion when barely thirteen minutes of play had elapsed.
The alternatives on the scoreboard were frequent until halftime, neither team managed to obtain a large advantage. Errece Almassora Balonmano went into halftime with a one-goal advantage (14-13).
The locals were making things difficult for the visitors, and during the first minutes of the second half, Almassora put CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife against the ropes by having a two-goal lead. The electronic scoreboard reflected a 20 to 18 in favor of the locals when the first ten minutes had been played.
The players of San José Obrero increased their intensity in defense, under the sticks Irene Sánchez, like Ana Marín in the first half, began to make saves of great merit and in attack, Mizuki Hosoe and Adina Ghidoarca took the reins of the team. With three penetrations, Adina and Mizuki scored three goals, to return the advantage to their team (20-21).
Nagore Saenz with two goals and Esther de Miguel on the counterattack, completed a 0-6 run that forced the coach of Errece Almassora Balonmano to ask for a time-out in the middle of the second half (20-24). Immediately afterwards, the locals lost Raquel Romero, by red card after a hard action on Nagore.
Until the end of the match, CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife managed to manage the four-goal lead they had acquired and defend themselves from Almassora's attempts to get closer on the scoreboard. With the result of 26 to 31, the end of the match was reached, with San José Obrero adding the first two points of the season in the Women's Honor Division Gold.
