A brilliant season for Unión Sur Yaiza in the Canary Islands group of the Third Division concluded, although the Lanzarote team could not say goodbye with joy for their fans. The team trained by Carlos Ramírez lost by the minimum against CD Marino. The victory of the Tenerife team serves to certify the second place in the classification and play the play-off for promotion to the bronze category of Spanish football. The winning goal for CD Marino came at the beginning of the second half.

Unión Sur Yaiza took the initiative in the first part of the match, against a CD Marino that was very conservative and seemed to be more aware of what was happening on other fields. Miguel Yunes gave the first warning, when he won the back of the CD Marino defense, stood in front of the area and his powerful shot was lost over the top of the crossbar. The first two minutes of the game had barely passed.

Javi Morales had two clear chances for the locals in two free kicks. In the first he found the response of goalkeeper Alberto who blocked low and in the second the ball went to the right of the goal. The first approach of CD Marino occurred in the 16th minute of the first half. A weak shot from Murci that went into the hands of goalkeeper Doramas.

The pace of the match decreased as the minutes passed. The chances in the final minutes of the first half were for CD Marino. Aarón Darias entered the right wing, took a cross for Josito and the latter's shot would end up crashing into the body of a defender. And shortly after, Murcí saw his shot crash into the crossbar. A play that had originated after a bad punch clearance from goalkeeper Doramas and that the Yaiza defense could not clear completely.

The second half began with the goal that would ultimately give CD Marino the victory and the second place in the Canary Islands group of the Third Division. Aridane, in an attempt to clear a shot from Josito, ended up putting the ball into his own goal. Bad luck for the Unión Sur Yaiza defender, which caused the only goal of the match in the 47th minute.

The goal gave CD Marino peace of mind, having chances to increase the differences on the scoreboard and sentence the match. Aarón Darías could not take advantage of the unbeatable position he had in the 59th minute, and his shot went too wide. Unión Sur Yaiza lowered its offensive performance, although the locals did not renounce the attack. Antonio Yeray was not successful when it came to culminating a counterattack and rushed the shot. Marino's response would come in a header from Murci, which forced goalkeeper Doramas to go all out.

The last chance of the match was for Unión Sur Yaiza. Miguel Yunes, with time up, tried his luck and found the good performance of goalkeeper Alberto to prevent the equalizing goal. There was no time for more, closing Unión Sur Yaiza the season with a defeat at home. The team trained by Carlos Ramírez has more than achieved the objective of the season, which was none other than to achieve permanence in the Canary Islands group of the Third Division.
