CB. Puerto del Carmen savored the taste of victory again by defeating Gestasur 22-20, in a match that was not decided until the final stages. The southern team sees an end to a streak of three consecutive defeats.
Suso Corujo's team was able to overcome the significant absences of Kenia Hernández and Jésica, among others, and showed the necessary grit to win a match that soon became an uphill battle, with disadvantages that reached three goals in the first half (4-7, min. 15).
Despite this, and when things looked bleak for the locals, the players from Conejero managed to keep their cool and tied the game at nine goals, which was the score at halftime.
In the second half, CB. Puerto del Carmen was always ahead on the scoreboard thanks to the extraordinary direction of Cristina Barrios, who was the best player of the match, scoring six goals. The local team, which had a four-goal lead (16-12, min. 46), ended up struggling, but finally won the match 22-20.
