CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen continues to burn stages towards the goal of this season, which is to play the promotion phase. This Saturday they continued their winning streak by winning at home, in the Municipal of Tías, against Hand Vall Valladolid (33-23) on matchday 18 of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division.
The match brought together several issues to take into account. First match in the Municipal of Tías so far this season once the works on the parquet and the roof have been completed. Match against Valladolid, the only team that had beaten the Tiñosa team so far in the championship and match against one of the three teams that until today were in second position, tied on points, in pursuit of the Tiñosa team.
The match started quite evenly. The Pucelanas kept up with the pace of the locals until well into the match (8-8, min. 20) with a very high level performance from their goalkeeper, Laura Muñiz, well accompanied by the goals of the pivot, Fadrique. But minutes before the break, with the arrival of the second wave after the first changes, the aurinegro team began to distance themselves on the scoreboard, achieving in just ten minutes a difference of five goals in favor (14-9, min. 30).
From the restart little was going to change. The Pucelanas basing their game on their goalkeeper and their pivot and Puerto del Carmen at their own pace "in crescendo", reaching the end with ten goals of distance on the scoreboard of Tías (33-23).
The victory of the squad led by Juanmi Pérez once again had Fernanda Luján Insfran as the top scorer with 9 goals, especially motivated by the birthday of her father, Cirilo, in his native Paraguay. Fátima Ezzahraa was the most successful in the Pucelano attack with 8 goals.
With the results obtained on the matchday, the Tiñosero team remains leader with 34 points, followed by Carballal and Gijón, both with 23 points, 11 behind the leader with 8 matchdays remaining until the end of the regular competition. The victory has served to leave Valladolid already in sixth position, 13 points behind the Tiñoseras.
The next match for the Tiñoseras will be against Oliveira & Faro Saeplast Cañiza in Galicia. The match will take place next Saturday, February 11, from 18:00 in the Municipal Pavilion of A Cañiza.
