British Philip Graves leads Ironman Lanzarote

The twenty-first edition of Ironman Lanzarote is already underway since seven o'clock this Saturday morning. More than 1,600 triathletes face one of the toughest triathlons in the world, which continues to grow every year in terms of participants and their quality. Playa Grande was packed early in the morning to follow the evolutions of the brave men and women of "iron".

Ironman Lanzarote started at seven in the morning in the Playa Grande area. Thousands of people were on the beach's coastline to experience the evolutions of the race firsthand. It has been one of the years in which there has been a greater presence of fans on the beach.

Professional triathletes were in charge of setting the pace of the swimming segment. Daniel Halksworth was the first to leave the water with a time of 47 minutes and 56 seconds. The British Philip Graves was second, being the triathlete who leads the race through the La Santa area. The third classified was the British Stephen Bayliss.

Among the women, the Danish Michelle Vesterby is being the great dominator of Ironman Lanzarote. She was in charge of leaving the water in the first place with a time of 51:44 and in the Mancha Blanca area she is almost five minutes ahead of the second classified.

Among the Spaniards, the participation of Víctor del Corral stands out, a triathlete who is currently in sixth place overall. In women, the Madrid native Saleta Castro is the third classified overall.
