The 10k Xtreme Yaiza Bestial Race 2022 has been a success in terms of participation, effort and fun in its third edition. On the afternoon of last Saturday, the most bestial race on the Island took place, which took as its epicenter the Plaza de la Alameda in the town of Yaiza, where more than 700 participants gathered from twenty-one countries, who had to overcome 40 obstacles among the landscapes of the municipality and the volcanoes of Timanfaya.
The day started at 5:00 p.m. with the departure of the first batches of the Elite 10 km mode and age groups; at 5:25 p.m., it was the turn of the Trex 10 Km category, which left in different batches and, finally, at 6:35 p.m., the Hell 5 Km.
The groups in shifts left in a staggered manner, encouraged by the Cumbacheros batucada, to ensure and favor both the distance between participants and the fluidity throughout the course, thus achieving the smallest possible number of people at each obstacle.
The participants in the Elite heat fought to win and particularly the women's podium was dominated by Paula Esteiro, who arrived nine minutes ahead of the second classified, Vanesa Fuster. While the male was a little more disputed, but Azman Mesand made the difference being the first classified, followed by Marouane Berradia and Manuel Luján.
The 10k Xtreme Yaiza Bestial Race is once again the second stop of the Bestial Race Series 2022 and in the international calendar of obstacle events. A test that qualifies in the most important championships worldwide, being the only obstacle race in the Canary Islands with those merits. This trajectory has placed it among the 10 best races in Spain, being an international reference for the development of this sport.
For everyone it was an afternoon of effort and hardness, but with a lot of fun and a very good atmosphere among all the runners, who were able to enjoy the benefits offered by the municipality of Yaiza and the volcanoes of Timanfaya, and which are the perfect setting for the Bestial Race one more year. The weather also favored, providing warmth to the participants and all the public that gathered in the area to support them at all times.
The narration of the event took place by the hand of the speaker Ángel Arencibia, who was in charge of keeping informed and encouraging all the participants and those present throughout the afternoon.

The development and growth of the event would not have been possible without the support of the Canary institutions, such as Turismo de Islas Canarias, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Yaiza City Council, and the public and private entities, as well as the companies and collaborators to give the opportunity to show Lanzarote as a destination where quality, safe and high-level sporting events can be held throughout the year.
Thanks to its commitment to Canarian sport and the impulse they have given, Bestial Race is an international reference for lovers of this sport. Also noteworthy is the work of the volunteers and the commitment of everyone one more year. A great event in the incomparable setting of the municipality of Yaiza, in which the protagonists were, without a doubt, those bestial runners who completed each and every one of the obstacles.
The countdown begins for the next Bestial Race, which will be held on August 27, in the municipality of Santiago del Teide (Tenerife).
