Alberto Medina, third Sub 11 in the Lanzarote Trophy Optimist

New podium for the Club de Mar Radazul's youth academy in a high-level event

Club de Mar Radazul climbed onto the podium of the Lanzarote Trophy Optimist. Third place for Alberto Medina in the Sub 11 category. The event held in the waters of Puerto Calero concluded this Saturday after three days of competition marked by strong winds.

The entity from the coast of El Rosario sent a team to this event consisting of Julia Bazán, Alberto Medina, Manuel Pérez, Pablo Sánchez, and Laura Aldaya, and the coach Sergio Armas.

Alberto Medina was 34th overall, third in Sub 11, being surpassed in his category by Viliams Osipov from Tajikistan and George Papavasileiuo from Greece. Medina had the following partial results: 6th, 34th, 32nd, 38th, (56th), 33rd, 27th, 45th, and 40th.

Pablo Sánchez was 31st overall and sixth Sub 13 Male, Julia Bazán reached 33rd place and eighth in Sub 13 Female, Laura Aldaya finished 51st overall, and Manuel Pérez 58th overall.

This competition in the waters of Lanzarote was contested by 72 sailors from clubs in the Canary Islands and others from Germany, Tajikistan, Greece, Norway, Italy, and Turkey. Nine races were completed, with one discard allowed.

The event was organized by Club Deportivo Código Cero and Atlantis Academy, in collaboration with the Royal Canarian Sailing Federation and sponsored by the Yaiza City Council, the Island Council of Lanzarote, and Calero Marinas.
