I will list the following for clarity:
1. I am not a voter of CC, but I believe that, although late and insufficiently, CC is now the only party of the "big ones" that is not completely betraying the desire of almost all Canarians to drastically and infallibly control illegal entry through the coasts, ports and airports of the Canary Islands.
2. Resorting to the European Union is a Chinese story that delays the decisions that the Government of Madrid must take on its own initiative.
3. It makes no sense to ostentatiously talk about the "collaboration" of 14 community countries so that in the end all that is offered are six aircraft and four patrol boats. The Ministry of Defense alone has hundreds of aircraft and boats, more than enough to face the problem, as the Parliament of the Canary Islands already agreed to request by demanding that Madrid shield our borders. The Cabildo of Tenerife had prepared a similar agreement that was sabotaged by the PSOE and replaced by much more generic and predictably ineffective requests. The CC and PP groups of said Cabildo are accomplices because they should not have fallen into that trap.
4. The initiatives of Frontex (European Border Agency) will be summarized in sending here "on vacation" (=for an unspecified and predictably short time) for something like entertaining maneuvers, a handful of sailors from various countries who, yes, will have the opportunity to get to know each other superficially, eat, drink and "hook up" with each other. It is not even clear what they will do exactly to dissuade the departure of black ships, intercept them, and return them to their ports of origin, or to those of some other country with which reception agreements are signed.
5. The PSC-PSOE lies when it says that it would be illegal to patrol and act in the waters of West African countries. It is not illegal if these countries agree to prevent illegal immigration. This acquiescence must be an essential part of the agreements that are signed.
6. Regarding action in international waters, to say that the crime can be prosecuted in international waters, and that it is urgently necessary to classify the attempt of illegal penetration as a crime, in addition to modifying any other regulations that limit the effectiveness of immigration control. But, in the meantime, I go even further: if the mafias are acting on the basis of "faits accomplis", the Spanish authorities must do the same, intercepting and returning black ships (whether they are cayucos, pateras or mother ships) in any way. If someone considers that there is any illegality, well, let them denounce it, but the legal decision will be long and it is time that we are gaining. Who is going to denounce us? The mafias? The NGOs? Well, let them do it. No one should be denied the right to protest. But let's solve the problem and then we'll talk.
7. The problem of airports will only be resolved effectively by modifying the law in a way that allows preventing the entry into the Canary Islands of any non-EU citizen who does not come with a prior visa and a specific work contract for the Canary Islands. And applying this even to non-EU citizens who come from airports in other regions of Spain. There are more things to say, but the important thing is that CC should not be intimidated by the pressure of the "forums" or the four columnists who have been acting against our general interests for years.
