The Cabildo of Lanzarote has announced the imminent start of works to build two new roads in the southern town of Playa Blanca, called Roma and Lisboa streets, located in the R1-Montaña Roja sector. The verification act of the staking was signed this Wednesday between the awarded company, Horinsa S.L and Transportes y Excavaciones Tiagua S.L, and the technicians of both the Cabildo and the Yaiza City Council. The event was also attended by the Councilor for Public Works of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, and the Island Director of Infrastructure and Planning, Salvador Martínez.

"After the signing of the verification act of the staking, it is expected that in the coming weeks the excavation and earthmoving works will begin for the construction of these new streets," explained Jacobo Medina. The works will be financed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, with a nominated subsidy of 1,004,200 euros, included in the Island Plan of Works in the municipality of Yaiza.

The councilor announces that the project for the construction of Roma street "will allow access to the sports facilities of the future football field and also be able to connect Avenida Faro Pechiguera with Georgia street, while the new Lisboa street will be located between the school and the new C.E.O".

The new streets will be equipped with new services such as a telephone network, public lighting network, low voltage, a rainwater network and a sanitation network. Likewise, both streets will have "wide sidewalks designed according to the accessibility law, a bike lane and parking areas," concludes Jacobo Medina.
