The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has awarded the acceleration lane work on the LZ-20 at the height of Argana Baja. The objective of this project is an intervention that will mitigate the queues at the entrance to the capital.
“The residents of the capital, and the people who travel to Arrecife to work, suffer daily from the long queues in the outer lane that passes through the industrial area”, details the president of the Corporation, Oswaldo Betancort, who assures that this work “is great news for the citizens of the Island”.
The vice president and councilor of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, explains that in this way “traffic will be made more fluid and users will be more comfortable”. “With this intervention, citizens who circulate on the road adjacent to the LZ-20 will be able to join it, thus not having to go to the roundabout on the ring road”, he points out.
The awarded company has been Herederos de Juan Acuña S.A., with an execution period of two months from the start of the work, for a total amount of 39,429.20 euros.
The project “Acceleration lane on LZ-20 from service road, P.K. 0+550” is a project financed by the Canary Islands Development Funds (FDECAN) corresponding to the year 2023. The Cabildo of Lanzarote reports that the drafting of this was carried out "urgently in the last month by the Corporation, given the level of urgency required by the intervention for island traffic".
The Cabildo of Lanzarote is working at full speed to execute, in the shortest possible time, all those works on the island roads that are beneficial for the residents of the Island.
