The Vox candidate for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Pérez, has denounced through a press release issued this Wednesday that "politicians do not care about the immigrants who are struggling in internment centers, nor about the situation in which the Canary Islands find themselves."

According to his perception, "these centers become hotbeds of precariousness" and he has compared the situation of the Archipelago with the Mediterranean islands such as Lampedusa.

In this sense, he points out that "immigration has become a taboo" and that "politicians" do not care about "the young people of the Canary Islands, their elders, or the women of Lanzarote."

He also insists that the La Santa hostel, currently used to house migrant minors, was "provisionally snatched" from "the most humble families" who are forced to do without this space without "offering them an alternative."

Óscar Pérez points out that the current reception space for migrant minors is "a space of confinement unwanted by anyone." He has also emphasized that migrants should come "with a work contract," although in this case they are minors.

To conclude, the candidate of the far-right party for the Cabildo of Lanzarote emphasizes that "immigration must respect the culture and ethical values of the country that welcomes them," and has also pointed out that "the interest of the emigrant is, on many occasions, the legitimate desire to improve their quality of life."
