TripAdvisor users have voted Famara as the second best beach in Spain, behind La Ses Illetes, in Formentera. This was reported by the councilor of the Teguise City Council, Rita Hernández, through a statement, in which she indicated that the beaches of the Balearic and Canary archipelagos are the ones that have obtained the highest score above those of the peninsula.
Below Lanzarote, TripAdvisor users have given the bronze medal to Levante beach, in Alicante. In addition, in fourth place they have placed Las Benirras beach, in Ibiza, and in fifth place Es Trenc beach, in Mallorca.
On the peninsula, the Mar Menor, in Murcia, has been placed in sixth position, while the seventh returns to the Canary Islands. Thus, the Lago Martianez in Tenerife, which was the work of the conejero artist César Manrique, also sneaks into this list.
In eighth place is Es Grau beach, in Menorca, while in ninth place is Lloret de Mar, on the Costa Brava and, finally, in tenth place is Puerto Mahón, in Menorca.
