Unifying the image of transport
The Island Image Plan for Regular Passenger Transport was presented in June. It includes the placement of 130 shelters with a new design through which it is intended to unify the image of regular passenger transport, reinforcing its competitive position.
The minimum investment planned for the fulfillment of the Plan amounts to 1,800,000 euros, of which about 380,000 euros have been allocated to the supply of the new shelters ordered and manufactured, and the rest to the financing of each of the municipal projects.
The new shelters, designed by the architect Alejandro Muñoz, present a new image that has been registered, becoming the property of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. The concept of the same reinterprets the classic pergola of the traditional architecture of Lanzarote, using durable and resistant materials, which need minimal maintenance and which integrate perfectly into the landscape environment of our island.
New technology
The shelters are equipped with interior lighting and low consumption LED technology. The power supply of these luminaires will be carried out by means of photovoltaic panels that ensure the autonomy of the installation, contributing to the implementation of clean energy. The result of the design is the result of the consensus reached between the Cabildo and the municipalities of the island
