The Minister of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change, and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Antonio Valbuena, highlights that it is also intended to improve the articulation of the road system, through sustainable mobility strategies characterized by intermodality and the use of alternative transport to the automobile.
Similarly, free spaces will be redeveloped through a strategy of diversification of uses and the expansion of the leisure offer, an identity based on the singularities of the nucleus will be created, and the integration, in a single plan, of the different urban planning instruments in force that operate throughout the area of Puerto del Carmen will be carried out.

Public information "in the coming days"
As deduced from the agreement, which has a validity period of four years, the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change, and Territorial Planning will provide the Tías City Council with the information and documentation it has regarding the previous Plans for Modernization, Improvement, and Increased Competitiveness of Puerto del Carmen. Likewise, it will process the document in each of its phases, once the municipal corporation has presented all the documentation corresponding to each of them.
For its part, the Tías City Council will proceed to formulate the plan through its external contracting. In this sense, the costs of this third plan, in all its phases, will be assumed by the City Council.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, recalls that the City Council has already sent the environmental documentation of the Plan to the Ministry for processing and it is expected to be released for public information in the coming days. "The drafting team of the Plan is working intensively, in coordination with the City Council, in the next phase to carry out the initial approval of the Modernization Plan once this imminent period of public information of the environmental phase has ended and once it has received the scope document with the environmental requirements to be taken into account derived from the environmental body of the Government of the Canary Islands," he says.
