The Technical Office of the Tías City Council is processing the execution and development of an urbanization in Puerto del Carmen intended for commercial land, with an area of 43,443 square meters. It is located next to the Rambla Islas Canarias and near the roundabout at the exit of Rancho Texas towards the interior of the tourist town.
This urbanization, contemplated in the current General Urban Plan of Tías, is approved after its publication in the BOP in 2008. It will be developed through the execution of the Action Unit -PC 13 (in Puerto del Carmen), whose statutes and compensation base is constituted in the Private Execution System by Compensation of this Action Unit, approved and in force since its insertion in the BOP of May 19, 2008.
The plenary session of the Municipal Corporation of Tías will approve in its session this Tuesday to designate the representative of the Tías City Council in the Compensation Board of this entity so that the Tías City Council can receive an area of 8,508 square meters that will be used for parks and green areas in that area of Puerto del Carmen, between the streets Belgium, Norway, continuation of Calle Hungría and the Rambla de las Islas Canarias. This new equipment, which the Tías City Council will receive as a free transfer, is planned in two plots of 3,188 and 5,340 square meters, respectively, where the government group plans the creation of parks and gardens.
A commercial building of 10,500 square meters
From the City Council they affirm that, "until now, one of the limitations that the main tourist area of Puerto del Carmen has is the absence of land owned by the municipality, destined for public facilities." The land plots planned in the current General Plan are privately owned, and until their owners develop it, the City Council cannot receive them and allocate them to its planned new endowments.
After the development of this new urbanization that is already being processed by the Municipal Technical Office, the property (a firm with capital from Lanzarote) will be able to build a building of 10,500 square meters of total commercial use on a plot of 15,000 square meters. The other 4,500 meters will be for the creation of parking lots and free spaces.
The City Council will allocate 8,508 square meters to parks and green areas and the rest of the surface will be for streets, sidewalks and infrastructures. After the delivery to the Consistory of the equipment land, the property may request the execution license for the future building that will house the commercial park or shopping center.
