A total of 2,468,311 euros were invested in the municipality of Tías in terms of employment in 2021, the year in which 169 unemployed people from the municipality were hired through various employment programs of the City Council together with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The government team of the City Council, formed by PSOE, Lanzarote Avanza (LAVA) and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, point out that they have "as a priority to progress in employment policies and collaborate in the creation of jobs and in the economic reactivation of the area. In fact, it is planned to reissue some of these employment plans this year."
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, emphasizes the importance of working to avoid unemployment. "With these plans, the people hired have decent economic income in the medium term, participate in economic life and improve their professional skills, all in addition to improving the services of the municipality," he indicates.

The employment programs executed last year are called “Return to Employment”, “New Employment Opportunities Noe-Covid”, Training Programs in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) of Youth Guarantee “The Web of Tías”, “Building Future” and “Safe Beaches” and Extraordinary Employment Program “Tías, a firm commitment to employment”.
