Tías hopes that the works on the LZ-40 will put an end to the traffic jams in Puerto del Carmen

The Tías City Council welcomes the announcement by the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands, which submits the Layout Project of the Yaiza-Arrecife road to public information. “I hope that this project will go ahead as soon as possible and that there will be no obstacles to the works in Lanzarote. From the Tías City Council we have not stopped working, monitoring the process and demanding its execution, so we welcome this announcement, especially if we take into account that the file has been completed for six months”, says the mayor, José Juan Cruz.

The action consists of the duplication of the current road on land already reserved at the time. The work affects a length of 8.2 kilometers between the municipalities of Tías and San Bartolomé to improve accessibility and connectivity on this road, where long traffic jams are recorded.

The affected section is between the César Manrique Lanzarote Airport, the tourist area of Matagorda and the different urbanizations of Puerto del Carmen to the southern area of the tourist town.
