The Tías City Council has completed, with its own funds, the construction and fitting out of a new bathroom for the Enclave Classroom, dedicated to serving students with Special Educational Needs, at the Alcalde Rafael Cedrés Children's and Primary Education Center (CEIP), in Tías.
The investment, which amounts to 15,378.26 euros, made it possible to create healthcare services fully adapted for people with reduced mobility, thus improving the conditions of accessibility, safety, and autonomy for the students.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilor for Education, Miriam Hernández, visited the center to check the results of the works and to learn firsthand about the needs of the Enclave Classroom.
During the visit, the mayor highlighted "the City Council's commitment to educational inclusion and to the improvement of the municipality's school infrastructure, especially those that contribute to equal opportunities."The Councilor for Education, Miriam Hernández, for her part indicated that "this action responds to a demand from the center itself and the educational team, and represents an important step in guaranteeing dignified, accessible spaces that are adequate for the needs of the students in the Enclave Classroom."Hernández also stressed that "from the City Council we will continue collaborating with educational centers to improve their facilities and promote inclusive and quality education."
The Enclave Classroom at CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, implemented since the 2008/2009 school year, is a specialized unit within the school designed for students with Specific Educational Support Needs (SEN) who require significant adaptations for their learning. This classroom provides a personalized educational response, promoting the integration, personal development, and active participation of students in school life.
