The fight that broke out in the early hours of last Friday in a bar in Puerto del Carmen, in which two Civil Guard agents were injured, has already reached the Arrecife Courts, where four people have been questioned and charged so far for these events.

One of them is a young woman from Lanzarote, and the others are two Saharawis and a Colombian. In addition, despite the information provided to La Voz by the Civil Guard, they did not actually make all four arrests. Only two of them were arrested, as the other two involved voluntarily went to the Courts. All of them have been released, pending the completion of the investigation.

Until now, the police sources consulted maintained that the agents, who were not on duty and were in the bar as customers, had been attacked from behind, and even spoke of a possible "revenge", pointing out that the alleged aggressors could have been previously reported or arrested. However, the version of those involved in the fight is quite different.

According to them, they were in the bar when the two civil guards approached the young woman from Lanzarote who was with them, with "unpleasant" comments. There, according to the defendants, and also some unofficial versions of the events, the fight would have started between this group and the two agents, which finally came to blows.

One of the civil guards only suffered minor injuries and although he was transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, he was discharged shortly after. However, the other agent had to be transferred to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria, where he remains hospitalized with a serious eye injury. Doctors are awaiting his evolution to try to undergo an operation, as he has a crystal inside his eye.

According to the Civil Guard's version, the defendants used glass and bottles to attack the agents, although it should also be noted that, apparently, the one who remains hospitalized wears glasses, and it cannot be ruled out that these could break during the fight, causing the injury.
