The Teguise City Council, through the Department of Heritage, Archive, and Library, has announced the verdict of the jury of the XX Love and Heartbreak Letter Contest ‘Los Novios de El Mojón’, an initiative that reaches its twentieth edition consolidated as one of the most recognized and unique cultural proposals in the municipality.
After evaluating the submitted works and examining them according to the criteria established in the rules, the jury unanimously agreed to award the first prize to the letter La aguja de marear, by Amparo Perdomo Feo, and the second prize to Sin acuse de recibo, by Noelia Valido Blanco.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that “this contest continues to be a showcase of the creative and literary talent that awakens each year in our municipality and an opportunity to continue promoting cultural initiatives as important as these.” She also wanted to congratulate the winners and thank all those who have participated in this edition, “because each letter submitted contributes to keeping alive and continuing a cultural initiative that is already twenty editions old.”
For her part, the councilor for Archive, Libraries, and Heritage, Mar Boronat, pointed out that “Los Novios de El Mojón has become a very special cultural event within the municipality, keeping alive a contest that year after year continues to value writing, creativity, and participation.”
The jury for this edition was composed of Mirian Dolores Hernández Perdomo, a Language and Literature teacher, and Francisco José Santana Gutiérrez, a Philosophy teacher, who evaluated the submitted works according to the criteria established in the contest rules.
The Teguise City Council thanks all those who have participated in this edition and reaffirms its commitment to promoting cultural initiatives that continue to foster creativity and enrich the cultural life of the municipality.
