The south wind that the César Manrique - Lanzarote airport suffered this Sunday had consequences on several flights, causing some diversions to Fuerteventura. Other planes, which saw the landing attempt frustrated, remained in the air waiting for conditions to improve. However, Aena assures that all the planes ended up returning to Lanzarote on Sunday, with the exception of two flights that were diverted to the island of Majorera and that were forced to spend the night there.

According to Aena to La Voz, one of the flights that had to stay in Fuerteventura was from the airline TuiFly, which departed from Ámsterdam. After spending the night on the neighboring island, the plane has returned to Lanzarote on Monday morning, to pick up passengers and return to the Netherlands

The Jet2 company flight, which departed from Manchester, suffered the same fate as the one from Ámsterdam, and the passengers were forced to spend the night in Fuerteventura. According to Aena, throughout Monday morning he returned to Lanzarote, to carry out the same procedure as the other flight: pick up passengers and return, in this case, to the United Kingdom.

Another of the incidents collected by the airport manager was the one suffered by a Binter company flight, originating on the island of Gran Canaria, and which had to return to the airport of the capital island after also frustrating its landing

From Aena they assure that the César Manrique – Lanzarote airport is fully operational on Monday, without verifying any type of incident in the landings.
