The Tías City Council approved this week in an ordinary plenary session, with the abstention of the opposition, two amounts of supplier invoices corresponding to provision of services, supplies and works to the council for a total of 445,739.80 euros. With the payment of these invoices, the City Council brings virtually all its accounts up to date.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Finance, Tomás Silvera, expressed their satisfaction with the effective response of the Tías City Council and the municipal workers to speed up the procedures that allow suppliers to quickly collect invoices.
“We are working to reduce the average execution period and speed up payments. We always try to reduce the average payment period, especially considering that most of the invoices, more than 70 percent, correspond to small companies or entities that invoice less than 15,000 euros,” declared the mayor.
For Tomás Silvera, “the effort made by municipal workers to correctly carry out all the procedures is remarkable, since we must take into account that the Tías City Council has more than 1,000 suppliers and registered entities, both self-employed and groups, associations, companies or professional associations and individuals, among others.”
The municipal councilors emphasize the good state of the local corporation's finances, which approved a budget of 25 million euros for 2022 and ended the year with a significant positive treasury surplus that places it at 34 million euros.
