The Cabildo of Lanzarote has announced that "in the coming days" it will modify the speed limit on some sections of the Tahíche road, going from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour. The Department of Roads and Works has given the green light to this change, based on a technical report "that supports the viability of said measure."
The Area directed by José Antonio Gutiérrez has already addressed the Teguise City Council and, "if its agreement is reached, it will proceed in the coming days to change the corresponding signage so that the measure comes into effect shortly."
The increase of 20 kilometers per hour of the maximum permitted speed will affect all sections, except at the entrance to roundabouts and in the vicinity of pedestrian crossings, which will have their specific limitations.
From the Cabildo they remember that part of that road has an urban character and belongs to the municipality of Teguise. Specifically, the section from the roundabout of the wind toy of César Manrique to the last one with a dual carriageway, with the detour to the right with the northern road.
