The plenary halls of the seven town councils of the Island have been active this Saturday. The reason, the celebration of the session of constitution of the local corporations. The day has developed normally in the seven local institutions of Lanzarote.

In Haría and Tinajo Coalición Canaria repeats majority. The first, with José Torres Stinga at the head, has seven nationalist councilors, two from the PSC-Democratic Alternative, two from the PIL and another two from the Canarian Nationalist Center. Tinajo will be governed by the 10 councilors of CC with Jesús Machín as mayor and in the opposition 3 representatives of the Socialist Party.

One of the curious situations left by the elections of May 27 was the results of Yaiza. In the southern municipality 5 councilors were distributed for the Nationalist Party of Lanzarote-Nueva Canarias, 4 for the PIL, 3 for CC and 1 for the PSOE. Finally, the abstention of the nationalists allows the PNL-NCa to govern in minority, allowing José Francisco Reyes to repeat as mayor.

The rest of the Consistories will be governed through the pact signed by socialists and pilistas. Thus, in Arrecife, Tías and San Bartolomé the mayors are from the PSOE represented in Enrique Pérez Parrilla, José Juan Cruz and Marcial Martín respectively. Meanwhile, in Teguise the first mayor will be José Dimas.

The opposition in the capital is constituted by 4 councilors of the PP, 3 of CC, 2 of PNL-NCa and 2 of Citizen Alternative; in Tías by 7 popular representatives, one nationalist and one of the PIL; in Teguise there will be 5 of CC, 4 of the PSOE and 2 of the PP and in San Bartolomé 3 of CC, 2 of the PP and 1 in CCN, Partido Vecinal, PNL-NCa and Isla Alternativa.

ARRECIFE

The constitution of the new City Council of Arrecife was marked by the congratulations to the new mayor and councilors as well as by the continuous references to the initially approved General Plan.

The document, which the Government group has already announced that it will withdraw immediately to make a new text "of consensus", was initially approved at the end of the last legislature.

For their part, the rest of the opposition groups have referred to the problems of the capital such as the need to improve the neighborhoods or improve the ordering of the city. In addition, all except Coalición Canaria made reference to the fact that they will collaborate with the Government group without ceasing to raise proposals and develop their supervisory work.

For his part, Enrique Pérez Parrilla pointed out that it is a position he occupies with "illusion" to "restore confidence to citizens." Something that "if we do not achieve we will have failed," said the mayor who also referred to the General Plan and that finally pointed out that he hopes to have good relations with all the parties that constitute the new capital Consistory.
