The San Bartolomé City Council has reported that it has already completed the process of 210 applications for the soundproofing of homes affected by aircraft noise in the town of Playa Honda, in this first phase of the project.
Likewise, the mayor of the municipality, Isidro Pérez, points out that there are currently another 260 files in process, out of a total of 1,065, and recalls that "they continue working to ensure that this right is extended to more homes in the town".
"The City Council is working to ensure that Aena includes about 1,000 more homes," he points out.
It should be noted that Aena committed to carry out real measurements in 2022 that contemplate a much wider strip than the one initially proposed, which will reflect the real number of homes affected by acoustic easements of the César Manrique airport, defended by the City Council in numerous allegations and meetings.
Specifically, sources from the town hall have clearly shown their vision of "not sharing that the population affected by airport noise was the one initially foreseen by Aena", pointing out that "the exposed population is much larger."
"The number of population and homes could be much higher than initially contemplated," they add. In any case, during this year, real measurements will be made in the homes that could be affected to know the total dimension of the problem.
