Emergency services were once again called to the Las Grietas area in the municipality of Tías this Tuesday, December 16, following an accident in which a person suffered a dislocated ankle while in this natural enclave.

According to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the alert was received through the CECOES 112, activating an accident rescue service. The officers deployed to the scene in vehicles Romeo 1 and Bravo 5, with an intervention level of 1.Upon arrival, emergency teams confirmed that a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Services (SUC) was already at the scene. The affected person was outside the cracks and reported pain in their right ankle. In coordination with the health technicians from the SUC, the ankle was immobilized with a splint, and the person was then transferred on a rescue stretcher to the ambulance. Once there, the health personnel took charge of the care and transfer to the hospital

After the intervention was completed and no further action was required by the Consortium, the personnel returned to their base. This new incident once again highlights the dangerousness of the Las Grietas area, a place frequently visited by residents and tourists.
