According to the survey conducted by the Perfiles Institute, Enrique Pérez Parrilla could win the Mayor's office of the capital. And although he would not obtain an absolute majority, he would be key to sealing alliances

PSOE would be the most voted political force in Arrecife

The PSOE would be the most voted political force in Arrecife with more than 25 percent of the votes according to a survey by the Perfiles Opinion Institute. Specifically, the socialists would grow up to 3.8 points compared to the last elections, obtaining up to seven councilors and becoming the main asset to create majorities.

Coalición Canaria, with the list that everything points to being headed by María Isabel Déniz, and the Partido de Independientes de Lanzarote would have to bid for second place, and according to the data from the electoral poll, they would obtain six councilors each, which suggests that they will become, if the predictions of this survey are met, the possible allies of the Socialist Party to preside over the capital Corporation.

Although the PIL would maintain second place, almost in a tie with Coalición Canaria, Dimas Martín's party would suffer a significant decline as the voting forecast is reduced by almost ten points. While in the 2003 elections they obtained the support of 31.9 percent of the electorate, in 2007, according to this survey, they would only reach 21-22 percent of the votes.

As for the rest of the parties, the significant advance of Alternativa Ciudadana 25-M stands out, which increases to 13-14 percent, growing four points compared to the past elections. However, the Partido Popular would reduce the voting forecast by more than one point.

With this panorama, alliances become a necessity to form a stable government. According to these data, both an alliance of the socialists with Coalición Canaria or with the Partido Independiente por Lanzarote, would be enough to govern with a majority. Another possible alternative would be a pact between the PSOE with PP and AC-25M, which would also add up to 13 councilors. But although this alliance, according to the data from this survey, would also be enough to form a government in the Cabildo, the truth is that it would be a very difficult pact to seal.

In any case, what the figures of the Perfiles Institute survey reflect is that it would be more than complicated to remove the Socialist Party from the Government Group. And the only possible pact to achieve this would have to be between the PIL and Coalición Canaria, since it is the only one that would allow adding twelve councilors. However, the strong differences between both formations, and especially the fact that the CC list to Arrecife will be headed in principle by María Isabel Déniz, former member of the PIL, would make this alliance practically unthinkable.
