The PSOE of Teguise will take the processing of the Special Plan for the Historic Site of La Villa out of the "drawer", which Coalición Canaria has been unable to approve in its 14 years of government in Teguise, despite "the repeated promises they have been making in this regard and the legal obligation to have it", the party clarifies.
Marcos Bergaz recalls that regional legislation establishes that "the Special Plan, whose preparation corresponds to the City Council, should reach at least initial approval within 18 months from the declaration of the historical site, a declaration that in the case of Teguise occurred in 1980".
"Having a Special Plan would provide greater legal certainty and agility to the actions that are intended to be developed in the buildings and spaces that make up this architectural jewel", but also "would help the protection, dissemination and revitalization of the fantastic historical site that houses the Royal and Illustrious Villa de Teguise", says Bergaz.
The socialist team includes in its roadmap for La Villa from next May 28 a "set of pending and unfulfilled actions" by the still government of Coalición Canaria. "Many of them we have proposed throughout the term that ends, as the main opposition party, and will be part of our government program when we take the reins of the municipality," he says.
Among them, "the visor of the Los Molinos football field, the solution to the mobility problem in José Betancort street; the conservation of public buildings, the rehabilitation of the El Hoyo court; a general beautification of the streets; the municipal theater project or the revitalization of the historical site to become the most appealing open cultural and commercial area of Lanzarote, will be pillars of our government action", confirms the socialist candidate.
In addition, "in the recent "door to door" that we developed through La Villa, we contrasted the loss of opportunities that Teguise has suffered in these last four years, even in issues such as improving the garden areas, waiting for affection and dedication by the municipal government; the burial of a wiring; dozens of streets waiting for their asphalt or the absence of containers to leave the oil and used clothing", the socialists emphasize.
"They could have preserved what is already done such as the "Timple Museum", "Teatro Chico" or the "El Hoyo" court
"At least they could have preserved what has been done for years, and not see how the "Timple Museum" has been closed for months, the petanque court and the "teatro chico" with leaks; or the "El Hoyo" court, in a state that the residents of Teguise do not deserve, but not even in that has a government been more aware of Oswaldo Betancort's farewell than of the municipal management", they denounce from the party.
