The socialist spokesperson in the Yaiza City Council, Carmen Guadalupe, has registered the request for an extraordinary plenary session in the municipality. The objective is to demand the Government of the Canary Islands to put into operation "immediately" the two infant education classrooms for zero to three year olds existing in the CEIP Playa Blanca.
Carmen Guadalupe has stated that, according to the information they have been able to gather, "the classrooms are ready to start operating, with the final conditioning works completed, with the necessary furniture and with the teaching staff appointed."
"The Canarian Coalition and the Popular Party have made the decision to block the entry into operation of these classrooms to divert students from zero to three years old to private schools, no matter how much they try to blame the previous government," she denounced.
"It is intolerable that having the classrooms finished, the Ministry now says that families should go to private education. No matter how much they say they will give aid, the truth is that there are no places," explained the socialist spokesperson.
Guadalupe has expressed her confidence that the mayor will be sensitive to this request and will promptly convene this plenary session in which all the political forces present in the corporation will add their voices "against an outrage that harms, above all, the most vulnerable families, who need this public service not only for family reconciliation, but also to bring a salary home."
