"The government group of the Haría City Council, made up of Pepe Torres' PMH and whoever leads CC, has lost money again for its youngest residents." This was denounced by the Socialist Party, which assures that the Consistory has let 55,542 euros escape from the Leader 2014-2020 funds.

The project, called "Youth spaces, infrastructures to provide the population with specific spaces for youth", sought to guarantee the continuity of young people in rural environments and was approved by resolution of October 14, 2020, with an execution period of one year, within a program of aid for the application of the Participatory Local Development Strategy, prepared by the Association for Rural and Fisheries Development of Lanzarote (ADERLAN) and selected within the framework of measure 19 of the Rural Development Program of the Canary Islands 2014-2020.

"We fill our mouths talking about opportunities for the youngest and when policies are finally articulated that favor our young people not having to go abroad to look for those opportunities, our City Council systematically loses the subsidies destined for that purpose,” says the PSOE spokesperson, Alfredo Villalba, who attributes this loss of funds to the “negligence” of the government group.

In fact, he recalls that it is not the first time that it has happened since the current pact governs. "It is something that has always characterized the PMH and CC and that we had already seen. Negligence, laziness, apathy and abandonment have settled, again, in the Haría City Council, and it already seems like our daily bread," he questions.

“The null management of this ungoverned group is intolerable, which mortgages future projects for our young people in a municipality where youth unemployment is close to 60%,” says Alfredo Villalba.
