The PSOE denies that the condemnation of the CACT for labor rights is due to its stage of government

The PSOE of Lanzarote denies that the sentence of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC), which condemns the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism to the payment of more than 100,000 euros to a worker, is a consequence of an action of the government stage of María Dolores Corujo or Benjamín Perdomo at the head of the Centers.

As the sentence itself states, the events date back to 2017, during the mandate of Pedro San Ginés as president of the Cabildo and Echedey Eugenio as counselor of the CACT. It was in that period when, according to the sentence, a substitution list was drawn up and used irregularly that has led to this judicial condemnation for violation of labor rights.

“The attempt to link this sentence to our stage of government is not only false, but it is a clear manipulation that aims to divert attention from the real origin of the problem: a bad management inherited from the San Ginés and Eugenio era”, said Benjamín Perdomo, counselor of the Socialist Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and former CEO of the Centers.

Perdomo recalls that María Dolores Corujo acceded to the presidency of the Cabildo in June 2019 and that, since then, any action related to this procedure was limited to the technical response of the CACT. “The CACT responded to information requirements and acted according to technical and legal recommendations”, he explained.
