The Popular Party believes that the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, should appear "urgently" and explain "the situation in which the municipal offices find themselves, after learning that Canal Gestión has begun to cut off the water supply to the Town Hall."
According to the PP, the cut responds to the "non-payment of outstanding receipts," which would amount to "about 80,000 euros, not counting late payment interest."
"It is essential that the mayor inform and explain to the residents of the municipality the reality of a matter that affects, in addition to the consistorial house, other dependencies dependent on the city council, such as sports facilities and socio-cultural centers,” says the communication secretary of the PP of Tinajo, Ramón Ortiz.
"More time should not be allowed to pass without the municipal authorities clarifying the matter, as it is something very serious and unusual for a water supply cut to be executed to a public institution due to accumulated debt,” he adds.
In addition, Ortiz believes that "the fact that until now nothing has been known about the problem that the Corporation was dragging along leaves much to be desired on the part of the municipal leader," and argues that “it is also necessary to know what the City Council plans to do to resolve the situation as soon as possible so that it does not affect the normal functioning of the affected facilities.”
