The councilors of the Popular Party of Yaiza, Juan Monzón and Guayo Rodríguez, celebrate the beginning of the works "for the construction of the waste collection point in El Puestito street, in the town of Playa Blanca."

The PP of Yaiza points out that the work is financed through the Municipal Cooperation Funds of the Public Works Area of the Cabildo, under the direction of Jacobo Medina. These days "the works for the construction of point 3 of pre-collection for about 296,000 euros" are being carried out, they add.

From the Popular Party they assure that it is a request that Juan Monzón "reiterated last year", presenting a proposal for the City Council" to face the dismantling of the old underground installation located next to the municipal sports court", in addition to the "container point on Nuestra Señora del Carmen street, located next to the church."

"In both cases, the concentration of deposits, both organic waste and selective collection, in these two points of so much traffic did not meet optimal health conditions, generating logical discomfort among residents and merchants and locals in the area," says Juan Monzón.

The populars denounce, "as they did in their day", that the holes in the underground containers that are already in disuse "had become pits of smelly waste and a breeding ground for the proliferation of rodents." For this reason, the PP councilors assure that they requested "the dismantling of the old installation and the habilitation of a new container area in these two points with enclosures and adequate pavements that allow their correct disinfection."
