The councilors of the Popular Party in the Yaiza City Council, Juan Monzón and Guayo Rodríguez denounce that the municipal government "does not take into account the sports schools of the municipality by leaving four of them without a training court due to the lack of interest of the Sports Councilor."

According to what they have learned from several complaints that different entities have sent them, including the disciplines of Handball, Futsal, Volleyball and Gymnastics, "as of today they are without a training court." These schools, which had been using the facilities of the C.E.O. Playa Blanca for "two seasons", have been surprised to see how "this season they cannot continue using this educational center for their training."

And it is that, contrary to what happened in previous seasons, in which the City Council "assigned a person as a janitor in the afternoons for the opening, closing and surveillance of the center", currently "there is no personnel assigned for this purpose."

According to what they have been able to verify from the PP, the management of the center maintains its "total willingness to continue collaborating both with the City Council and with the sports schools, as long as there is a janitor." A perfectly understandable condition because "keys to the educational center cannot be given to so many schools", especially when "to use the toilets it must be done inside the building itself, which means having access to all the facilities."

Thus, and in the absence of a janitor from the City Council, the councilor of the area, Ángel Lago, has led these clubs to courts that "do not meet the necessary conditions for sports practice, as is the case of the Marcastell court."

From the party they demand from the municipal government "a solution for these sports schools" and that they can "start their season in optimal conditions." Likewise, they invite the Sports Councilor to "look more at these sports schools that work with the children and young people of the municipality", and "make his slogan a reality." "Yaiza must be the capital of sports, but for everyone, also for the base and not only for the organization of macro sports events", the Populars point out.

"As of today, the completion date of the Playa Blanca Pavilion is unknown"

It should be remembered that the residents are still waiting for the "long-awaited Playa Blanca pavilion and its adjoining courts", which would really be "the solution for many sports schools." However, the reality is that, after "more than two million euros of cost overruns, several years of delay and the countless photos that the mayor and the councilor have taken, as of today the completion date of the Playa Blanca Pavilion is unknown."
