The Popular Party has once again insisted on the "serious delay" that the approval of the Cabildo's budget for the year 2022 has already accumulated, which in its opinion represents "irresponsible management for a corporation that presumes exemplary from the regulatory point of view."
"The reality is that we are already halfway through the year, there are only six months left to complete the year and with the deadlines established by law for its processing, we are talking about a budget for barely three months", denounces the councilor and spokesperson for the PP, Ángel Vázquez. "It is the only Cabildo in the Canary Islands that does not have a budget", he questions.
Vázquez points out that already in March of this year they "interrogated" the new Government of PSOE and Podemos about the forecasts in this regard. "The Minister of Finance herself acknowledged that they were working and that it was really very advanced, so in two months at most it would be ready.", he recalls.
"In the end almost four months have passed and the president has not even put the draft on the table, which is the most important management tool for any public institution", adds the PP spokesperson.
From the ranks of the Popular Party they consider that it is a "serious delay that the highest island institution is to this day without budgets adapted to the complicated economic situation that is being experienced due to inflation, the rise in the price of fuel and the increase of more than 15% in the price of the shopping basket".
"In this context of economic crisis, with not very flattering forecasts for after the summer and without budgets, it is impossible for the Cabildo to give an effective and efficient response to the needs of the citizens and the island", denounces the spokesperson for the popular.
