The island president of the PP and councilor in Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, has announced that her political group will ask for the resignation of the mayor Eva de Anta, "for being directly responsible for the loss of the 3.4 million euros that the Government of the Canary Islands had allocated in the budget for this year to the construction of social housing in the capital." The popular leader considers that "socialist management is a poison for the city of Arrecife" and that the mayor "cannot get away with such serious negligence."
"The negligence with which the socialist government has acted is unforgivable, which in eight months has not been able to comply with the basic procedure of segregation and transfer of land to the regional Executive", says Pérez, who considers that "there is no excuse to justify this shame and the damage that is being done to the hundred families who had all their hopes placed on the construction project starting this 2018, as planned."
"We are facing a completely ineffective government that is constantly trampling on the expectations of the residents of Arrecife, which has zero response capacity and zero management capacity. Of course, Arrecife will be able to recover the construction of social housing, but it will have to be from next year because the more than three million euros that have been lost will not be able to be recovered for what they were intended," says Pérez.
"Anti-social" CV of the PSOE
The popular leader points out "after decades of social housing deficit and criticizing the Government of the Canary Islands for not taking Lanzarote into account in social housing plans, we see that when the opportunity arises, what the PSOE does is throw it in the trash as if it were a luxury that Arrecife could afford."
"It's shameless because it has no other name", considers Ástrid Pérez, who points out that "when the socialists take the transfer of land to the next plenary session, they will do so being fully aware that they have squandered the 3.4 million euros because the procedure, which effectively has to be done, will be with a view to 2019 but nothing more."
The popular leaders hope that "after this social attack, the PSOE of Loli Corujo will not go out on the street again with the banner to demand social housing and decent housing for all." In addition, Ástrid Pérez points out that "the socialists are solely responsible for losing the ARUS of Valterra and Titerroy, for not paying aid to those evicted from Titerroy or for not executing a single euro of what they budgeted for the purchase of social housing." "To this anti-social curriculum they now add the loss of more than three million euros due to pure ineptitude," she concludes.
