The Popular Group in the Arrecife City Council wanted to respond to the latest statements by the mayor, Eva de Anta, as it considers that she has made a "completely biased interpretation of the statements of the regional Minister of Housing in parliamentary session speaking of the social housing planned for the capital".
"It cannot be allowed that in a matter of such importance the mayor lies so blatantly, normalizing the situation and ensuring that the 3 million euros can be invested this year," criticizes the PP, which assures that this "in no case" was what Cristina Valido said. Thus, the popular insist that "that money is in the air as long as the delay in the procedures that corresponded to the City Council force a readjustment of the expectations initially planned".
In this regard, they recall that the Ministry had set a deadline of March 31 for the transfer of land. "It was not until April 10 when the Plenary approved this procedure and, according to what the Minister herself reported this week, the final transfer has not yet taken place," says the PP, which stresses that "it will be from there that the project will be tendered and it will be known what deadlines and what amount of the 3 million will be executed." Therefore, it concludes that "it cannot be said that the aid for social housing is saved, as De Anta has said".
"Another thing", according to the popular, "is that the 3 million are relocated in other housing projects, but they cannot be fully injected into the 400 social housing project as planned." Of those 400 homes, about 200 would be in social rental and the other 200 within a special promotion for sale.
