In the [Plenary held on July 10->7891] the Party of Independents of Lanzarote, PIL threatened to go to the Prosecutor's Office, after the government group rejected a motion on the Inalsa dispute regarding the Janubio desalination plant and Water Treatment. This Tuesday, two councilors of the Cabildo for the Party of Independents of Lanzarote denounced, before the Prosecutor's Office of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, the facts referring to the award that demands Inalsa to pay compensation of ten million euros for the alleged breach of contract for the exploitation of the Janubio desalination plant.
Maria José Docal Serrano and Plácida Guerra Cabrera have presented, in a particular way, to the Prosecutor's Office documents related to the entire process and have exposed the events that have occurred since in 2001 Inalsa signed a contract with UTE and that has given rise to an Arbitration award issued by the Court of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce of Las Palmas, which obliges Inalsa to pay 9,381,761 euros, plus legal interest, fees and expenses of the procedure.
In the complaint, the exhibitors consider that what happened "could constitute grounds for a crime" so they have decided to bring it to the attention of the prosecutor's office to carry out the investigations it deems appropriate in order to clarify the facts. Already in the past plenary, Maria José Docal Serrano insisted that the Prosecutor's Office is the one that "has to clarify this contract."
